2008 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals Champions Named

(INDIANAPOLIS) The 27th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Fall 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals presented by Toyo Tires marked the end of the competitive 4-Wheel Jamboree racing season. The event, held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday, September 19 through Sunday, September 21, 2008 featured final-round competition in the Monster Truck Thunder Drags, the Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks Challenge, and in the Comp Cams NMRO Mud Drags presented by TCI Automotive.

The Hall Brothers Racing Team from Champaign, Illinois again claimed the top two spots for the 2008 Monster Truck Thunder Drag season. The team, which competed at every 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals event except one in 2008, has been dominant throughout the year. For the 2008 season, Mark Hall driving Raminator wins the championship finishing 240 points ahead of teammate Geremie Dishman in Rammunition. The Dodge Hemi team of the Hall Brothers finished the season nearly 1000 points ahead of third place finisher, Dan Runte in Bigfoot. For the 2008 Monster Truck Thunder Drag season, fourth place ended in a tie between teammates Spike and Avenger. They were followed in sixth place by Batman and seventh place by Tailgator.

At the Fall 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals in Indianapolis, three rounds of Monster Truck Thunder Drag racing were completed. The winner of round one was Dishman in Rammuntion. Round two went to Doug Noelke in Tailgator. The round three winner was Dan Runte in Bigfoot.

The Mickey Thompson Tires Tough Trucks® Challenge and Comp Cams NMRO Mud Drags presented by TCI Automotive wrapped up their 2008 season competition in Indianapolis.

In the Modified Division of the 2008 Mickey Thompson Tires Tough Trucks Challenge, Sonny Dohrmund of Davenport, Iowa in his truck called "After Burner" torched the competition over the seven-event season. Dohrmund won the season championship by a huge 575-point margin. Finishing second on the season was Gary McIver of New Castle, Indiana driving "Bits N' Pieces". Josh Fridley of Middletown, Indiana with his truck, "Rolling Thunder" finished third. The rest of the top ten: Jeff Dedick of Carol Stream, Illinois-fourth, Kenny Sulfridge fifth, Troy Djuren sixth, Mark Noto of Buffalo, New York, seventh, Tracy Mick of Utica, Ohio eighth, Crystal Djuren ninth, and Andy Jordan tenth.

The 2008 Comp Cams NMRO Mud Drags Presented by TCI staged events at five venues in six different classes. After the Indianapolis round, season champions were named in classes 3 through 6.

In Class 6, Mark Osteen of Daytona Beach, Florida in "Dirty Bird" won the season championship by a scant 30 points over runner-up Tim Wheelus of Jefferson, Georgia in "Simply 2". Wheelus also finished third on the season in his other dragster called "Simply 1". Chuck Courty III, of Apollo, Pennsylvania in "Mudmissle" finished fourth for 2008 and William Fling III of Sunbury, Ohio finished fifth.

In Class 5, Tim Wheelus wrapped up the top two 2008 season spots. He wins the championship in "Simply 1" and runner-up spot in "Simply 2". William Fling finished third, Chuck Courty Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania fourth, and Gary Reddick of Butler, Pennsylvania finished fifth.

The Class 4 2008 NMRO Mud Drags, Brian Sears of Mt. Lookout, West Virginia in "Mud Hopper" picked up the season championship. Erik Klos of Fenton, Michigan in "The Judge" finished second, and Scott Schane of Moundsville, West Virginia in "Just Bring It" finished third. Billie Gillispie finished fourth for the season and Sam Franklin finished fifth.

Finally, the 2008 champion of Class 3 of the Comp Cams NMRO Mud Drags presented by TCI is Kirk Miller of Matthews, North Carolina in "The Grinch". Finishing in a tie for second place were Dodd McDowell of The Villages, Florida in "Thunderstruck" and Scott Schane of Moundsville, West Virginia in "Just Bring It". For the season, fourth place goes to Sam Franklin of Proctor, West Virginia in "Untamed" and fifth place to Paul Karch of Bloomington, Indiana driving "Team Extreme".
