Hall of Fame Monster Truck Driver and motorsports legend, Dennis Anderson, will come out of retirement to compete with the Mega Trucks at the 39th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Fall 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, September 18-20. Anderson will also be signing autographs and meeting with fans throughout the weekend at the Indy Jamboree.
Anderson, who started his racing career in Mug Bogs in the early 1980s, will be behind the wheel of King Sling, which John Gordon drove at the season-opening Bloomsburg Jamboree in Pennsylvania last month. Gordon reached the semi-finals in that event.
Team Anderson opened the 2020 4-Wheel Jamboree season with a Mega Trucks victory at Bloomsburg, with Dennis’s son, Weston, piloting Bog Hog. The younger Anderson will also be in action at the Indy Jamboree behind the wheel of Bog Hog as he looks to make it two straight wins.
The last time Dennis Anderson competed was in January of 2017 aboard a Monster Truck and he announced his retirement from driving later that year.
“We are thrilled to have Dennis come out of retirement to compete at the Indy Jamboree,” said Peter MacGillivray, Bonnier VP of Motorsports. “Dennis brings such passion to everything he does and the fans thrive off his enthusiasm. The buzz around Team Anderson being at the Bloomsburg Jamboree was simply amazing. When it was recently mentioned on social media that Dennis was considering coming out of retirement to drive at Indy, the response was overwhelming. He is truly a fan favorite and an icon of the sport. It’s an honor for us to have him back behind the wheel with the Mega Trucks at the Indy Jamboree.”
At the Indy Jamboree, Mega Trucks will race on an expertly-designed double Hill & Hole Mud Bog. The Hill & Hole track will measure approximately 60-feet wide allowing for side-by-side race action, along with two huge jumps that will send Mega Trucks soaring through the air into back-to-back mud pits.
Scheduled entries for Mega Trucks at the Indy Jamboree include: King Sling, Bog Hog, Ace In The Hole, Blown Budget, Double Trouble, Six Figures, Better Blown and Above All.
Mega Trucks are scheduled to compete on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at the Jamboree.
